He had a dry heave this morning but no vomiting since. His stool this morning was slightly drier and contained some liquid. He is acting normal but is avoiding his breakfast. What should I do to help him?

My dog, Lily, a 6-year-old Shih-Tzu, has been vomiting and having diarrhea for 2 days, even after trying a bland diet of boiled chicken breast and white rice. She vomits after eating and sometimes even when she doesn't eat, about 3 times a day. There is no blood in her vomit or stools, and she seems otherwise normal, playing around and drinking water. Could she have eaten something unusual, like avocado, that might be causing this? Should I take her to the vet?
