A puppy presented with a unilateral scrotal hernia on the right side. Pre-anesthetic blood tests showed mild regenerative anemia, moderate monocytosis, and eosinopenia suggestive of chronic inflammation and stress leukogram. There was no azotaemia, mild hypokalemia. The blood tests were done prior to the hernia operation. Should the other puppies from the litter be tested for anything, and is there any concern about the bloodwork affecting the surgery?

Hello, my 12-week-old Cavalier has had diarrhea all night, and now there’s blood in his poop. I’m concerned it’s parvo. When did you notice there was blood in the Cavalier’s stool? Does he seem more or less thirsty than normal? Did the Cavalier eat anything unusual recently? What’s the Cavalier’s name and age? Is there anything else the Vet should know before I connect you?

I dropped a 10 mg ER potassium capsule and cannot find it. If my 6 lb Maltese puppy finds it and eats it, will it harm her?

My dog, Sheba, a 9-year-old German Shepherd, has blood in her urine and dark-colored urine for a couple of days. She is paralyzed in her hind end due to a spinal stroke and has had UTIs in the past with similar symptoms. I have an appointment with her vet but not until next Thursday. Is there anything I can do for her until then?
