Our dog has heartworm and was prescribed doxycycline. We need to find 30-40 more pills at a reasonable price, as the vet and local drug stores are charging significantly high prices.

I have a question about my puppy and diarrhea. He seems to be having trouble with the Blue Buffalo food and has been experiencing diarrhea. Could it be a food intolerance or allergy? Should I consider Metronidazole or switch to a different puppy food like Purina Puppy or others? Also, is it possible to have parasites and have normal stools while on a specific diet like chicken and rice? Should I try Flagyl instead of Albon, and should I switch back to a different puppy food rather than chicken and rice?

A 100 lbs golden retriever is vomiting and has diarrhea, drinks a lot of water, and has a good appetite. She ate 2 cups of food this morning and vomited it up later. She has a history of eating non-digestible things like sticks and people food, and has been observed eating her own feces and vomit. What could be the cause of her symptoms and what should be done?

My 4-year-old neutered German Shepherd Dog (GSD) was diagnosed with Soft Tissue Sarcoma (STS) in his right front leg in October 2012. The tumor was removed, and he received 20 radiation treatments in November. In March, two more tumors were found and removed from an adjacent area. I was told that he 'failed' radiation and that STS does not respond well to chemotherapy. Electrochemotherapy was discussed, but my vet is concerned about the waiting time between treatments potentially increasing the risk of metastasis to the lungs or liver. Tomorrow, my dog is scheduled for chest x-rays to check for metastasis, followed by leg amputation if none are found. Do you have any suggestions for the planned treatment?

When I woke this morning, one of my dog's ears is swollen and flopping down, it seems to be filled with fluid. Is there anything I can do at home for this or does he need to see a vet to have it drained?
