I accidentally gave my 12-pound, 12-year-old dog, Buddy, double his prescribed dose of Meloxicam (0.5 mL instead of 0.25 mL). He has no known liver or kidney disease and is also taking gabapentin correctly. What should I do, and are there any symptoms I should watch for that would indicate I should take him to the hospital?

I sprayed Cutter Backyard Bug Control spray in the morning. When I got home from work, my dog was drooling and breathing heavily. The next morning, an X-ray showed air in the chest cavity. Could the spray have caused this? My dog, Bo, an 11-year-old basset hound, had to be put down due to low oxygen saturation. Was this my fault? Could it have been the spray, especially if he licked it? My other two small breed dogs, who were also in the yard, are fine.
