We have a new puppy (10 weeks old) who was exposed to kennel cough from another dog. He began coughing today and we have a vet appointment for tomorrow. My concern is that he just vomited foamy bile with heavy wretching, then a minute later wretched some more and vomited a small amount of mucous with blood in it. After he vomited, he wanted to eat grass. He also likes to chew on mulch since we brought him home on 7/6. What should we do and what should the veterinarian be aware of?

My 11.5-year-old Doberman Pinscher has been experiencing loose stools, followed by watery diarrhea, weight loss, lethargy, and refusal to eat for about 3 weeks. An ultrasound ruled out a blockage, and the vet suspects IBD or lymphoma and recommends surgery for a biopsy. I'm concerned about the recovery from surgery, especially given his age and recent weight loss. Is surgery the only course of action, and could he starve to death if he continues to refuse food? Additionally, is there a chance of a missed blockage or other issues causing his vomiting and refusal to eat?
