I have a 10-year-old boxer named Sam with a torn ACL, arthritis, and allergies. He's been on 100mg gabapentin twice a day and 75mg vetprofen twice a day for 6 months and is doing well, but I'm wondering if it's necessary to give him both medications or if a double dose of gabapentin would suffice. Vetprofen and Apoquel are expensive, while gabapentin is more affordable.

My 50-pound dog ate a cotton round that had been soaked in a water-borax solution (about 2 cups water, 1-3 tablespoons borax, and some sugar). Should I be worried, and is there anything else important the Veterinarian should know about the dog?

I have a 10-year-old miniature poodle named Laylah who has had intermittent blood-streaked stool for a month. The vet found a slightly enlarged spleen and prescribed amoxicillin for 7 days, which seemed to improve her condition. However, after a couple of weeks, she has shown decreased appetite and general malaise. What could be causing these symptoms and what should I do next?

My vet prescribed trazodone 50mg to help my dog, Millie, relax so I can cut her nails. I gave her one tablet before and it didn't work. She is about 28-30 pounds. Should I give her 1 1/2 or 2 tablets for the proper dosage to help her relax and be sleepy enough for me to clip her nails?

My dog, Doctor Erickson, a 7-month-old Labrador weighing 50 lbs, ate a piece of my dragons fragrance plant two days ago and is now drooling, vomiting clear mucus, and has started pooping blood. What should I do?
