My puppy, along with its litter mates, was vaccinated at 8 weeks. One puppy started vomiting and having soft stools that evening, but still played and ate. Over the weekend, it bounced back and forth, and today it is drinking small amounts but has lost interest in food, wants to sleep, and tries to hide from its litter mates. The puppy also seems to have less energy and is lowering its head to drink but not actually consuming water. What could be the issue and what steps should I take?

My Pomeranian was eating when the doorbell rang, causing her to cough and dislodge a piece of food. Since then, she has been gagging and coughing intermittently for about 5 hours, as if she thinks something is still lodged in her throat. She's breathing fine, is alert, and eats bread without issue, but her throat seems sore as she keeps swallowing hard. Should I be concerned, and is there anything I can do to help her?

My 10-year-old lab-mix, Lily, has been having difficulty urinating. She started urinating on an enclosed porch recently, and now she seems unable to urinate after squatting for a while. I don't have funds for a $300+ vet visit at this time. Can I safely give her leftover Macrobid, which was prescribed for my own suspected infection, until we can follow up?
