I have a 13-year-old Dachshund named Ginger who started having trouble walking last week. She was given a baby aspirin and 5mg of Prednisone, which seemed to help initially. However, she is now unable to walk and has not urinated this evening. My vet recommended a myelogram, but the cost is prohibitive. Would giving her Prednisone again help, and is there anything else I can do in the meantime?

We have a young female dog in our rescue who was surrendered after re-injuring her ACL post-surgery. The vet suggests repairing both rear ACLs at the same time. I have concerns about the recovery aspect of her ordeal with both knees being fixed simultaneously and am looking for input. She is otherwise a healthy dog.

My 4-year-old border collie, Sam, has an unwillingness to jump up on the bed or couch. He walks and runs fine, eats and drinks normally, and has no issues with bathroom habits. He seems happy but won't jump up. Sometimes he will jump up and put his paws on my shoulders for a hug but won't do that either. I'm wondering if he might have a strained muscle or pinched nerve. I have checked his feet and there are no visible wounds. When I check his back legs, feet, and lower back, he doesn't shy away or cry in pain. What could be the issue and what can I do in the meantime?
