I have a 17-year-old male cat named Scampy with high blood sugar (229) and thyroid issues, currently on methimazole and Lantus insulin. He stopped eating, became dehydrated, and is very lethargic. The vet prescribed 100 mL of fluid twice daily and 1 unit of Lantus insulin once daily. I suspect kidney failure and am concerned about the amount of fluids being administered. What should I do to manage his condition and ensure he gets the appropriate care?
