I have a 3-month-old female Maltese puppy named Tiki with a cleft lip. She swallowed a large piece of baked chicken jerky treat and has been coughing, gagging, and unable to hold down solid food since. She has been on a liquid diet and seems to be doing better, but I'm concerned about her breathing and overall discomfort. Is it possible that the treat is still stuck in her esophagus, and should I bring her back to the vet or continue with the liquid diet?
