I have a 6-month-old Toy Aussie and two new Poodle Shih Tzu mix puppies, all of whom have diarrhea that appears mucusy green with little odor. They are not lethargic and are eating a bland diet of chicken and rice. Should I take them to the vet, and what additional steps can I take to help them?

My 13 lb. Havanese has eaten half an Efferdent, sometime in the past 24 hours. He seems to be behaving normally -- ate his breakfast, did his jobs, etc. Should I be taking any action?

I have a 15-year-old female dog who has been experiencing vomiting, diarrhea with blood in the stool, and lethargy. Blood tests showed normal kidney function, and she was given anti-inflammatory, B12, and anti-nausea injections. She seemed okay for a couple of days but then relapsed. What can be done for her?

My 11-year-old, 79-lb. basset hound has a swollen upper mouth, possibly from getting into something or being bitten/stung. He isn't in pain but keeps rubbing his mouth against the floor. Is it safe to give him an antihistamine (diphenhydramine 0.25 mg) pill or half of one, considering he already takes medication for a thyroid condition (Soloxine 0.5 mg, 1.5 pills twice per day)?

My 14-year-old Chow mix had a vestibular episode last night. Is it treatable, and what can be done to prevent recurrence? After a dog has had one episode of vestibular, how likely is the dog to have future episodes?

My 9-month-old dog chewed apart a flashlight 7 days ago. She did not ingest the batteries, lightbulb, or plastic lens, but some hard plastic body pieces and rubber pieces are missing. She has been passing some of these pieces in her stool and vomited up small pieces of rubber. She is eating, drinking, urinating, defecating, and playing normally. Is there a need for x-rays and surgery, or should I monitor her closely?
