We sprayed our 13-week-old German/Belgium Shepherd puppy with Hartz Ultra Guard Plus yesterday, and his stand-up ears fell and haven't come back up. We called the vet, who advised washing him with Dawn. His ears are still down today. Will they come back up, and is there anything we can do?

My 14-year-old pit bull suddenly began yelping today, has difficulty walking up steps, and seems uneasy and reclusive. He had 18 teeth extractions several months ago and has had hip problems in the past. What could be causing his discomfort, and what can I do to help him?

My dog has been acting strangely for a few weeks. He used to enjoy long walks but now lays down and refuses to walk. However, he can still scamper up steps and stand on his hind legs to play. Sometimes he doesn't approach his food or water bowl, but will eat and drink if I bring it to him. What could be causing this behavior?

I have my 11-month-old Shih Tzu groomed every 6 weeks. I am concerned that the groomer does not cut his nails short enough to prevent the nailbed from growing, which could cause pain when walking. What is the correct length for a dog's nail to prevent this, and how do I tactfully communicate this to my groomer?
