I have a yorkiepoo, he weighs 14 pounds and is 8 years old. He hurt his foot, I can't find anything in the paw but he is limping. Is it okay to give him a 81mg aspirin for the pain?

The most common reason for your dog's limping is likely a soft tissue injury such as a pulled muscle...

My dog has been sick since July 1st, starting with a urinary infection that cleared up, followed by months of fever that required multiple antibiotics. Now, despite no fever, he won't eat, is losing weight, and his gums are less pink. His calcium is high, phosphorus is low, and there are no signs of cancer. He was given Metoclopramide for his stomach, but it only helps for a day or two. What else can be done, and is he just going to die?

Is there anything I can do to treat cluster fits in my dog? She has had 4 fits in the last 3 hours, 3 of which were in the last hour. She had Diazepam 10mg on the 2nd fit. Other fits have been less severe. She had 3.5ml Epiphen this morning and 5ml this evening. This happened 4 weeks ago, and my vet charged me £275 for a night-time appointment, and I simply don't have the money to take her.

My 10-year-old dog woke up whimpering, is lethargic, shivers when inhaling, and wants to be very close to me. Her gums are dry and black, and her eyes are droopy. She also has spasms and labored breathing. What could be wrong and what can I do?

My pit/boxer just came back from a heavily flooded river bottom with a single, fairly large (3/8 x 3/16) puncture wound on her forearm that is swelling the entire leg and foot with a red area increasing in size around it 1 1/2" x 3". She found a displaced desert rat and attacked it. She also swam extensively in fast current with branches flowing by as well as being swept into thorny palo verdes and desert trees and bushes. What should I do about her wound?

A few days ago, I noticed my dog had a tuft of fur missing from her scalp and a sore. The next day, the bald spot was bigger, there were more sores, and her scalp looked excessively greasy. Today, the bald spot is the size of a softball, it's covered in sores and this hunter green sludge. I tried to wipe off the green stuff, but either it won't come off or I wasn't putting enough pressure (It hurt her too badly.) I tried to cleanse it with salt water, but that did nothing. What is this?
