My 14-year-old German Shepherd has a recurring sebaceous cyst that has grown to the size of a grapefruit and is now draining. My one-year-old Shih Tzu had blood work done before being spayed, and her ALT levels were nearly 800, with elevated ALP, BUN, and GLU levels. A bile test showed post-eating bile levels at 45, which is above normal. The vet suspects a liver shunt, but online sources suggest shunts usually cause bile levels over 100. What else could be causing these elevated levels, and what should be the next steps?
