I wanted to let you know that my dog, Thomas, suffered several seizures/strokes late Sunday night that left him paralyzed and he was euthanized. The diagnoses ended up being encephylitis secondary to an aggressive cancer involving the brain. Thank you again for your informative and compassionate response to my questions.

My dog's eyes are dilated, jaws are swollen, and he can't seem to chew or swallow well, but has no fever. What could it be?

Do dogs get dementia? My 13-year-old pitbull exhibits signs of wandering, barking, crying, and whimpering at night, along with anxiety and panting. She also faces corners and shows other unusual behaviors.

I have a 5-year-old Boston and a 2 1/2-year-old Pug who are friendly and loving but recently attacked and killed my mother's 13-year-old chihuahua/terrier who was blind and deaf. The Boston and Pug had previously shown signs of aggression towards the chihuahua/terrier, but I separated them when I was not home. Why did this happen, and should I be concerned about future aggression towards other animals?

What can I give my mini Dachshund dog for constipation? She is 10 years old, up-to-date on all shots and heartworm medicine. She was fine this morning, but after dinner, she began laying around, not eating or playing, and has had some gas this afternoon.

For the last 2-2.5 years, my Chihuahua's liver enzymes have been troubling in blood work, getting worse over time, despite her appearing healthy and energetic. X-rays showed her liver is 4 times normal size and her gallbladder is 'gunked up'. An ultrasound and biopsy confirmed cirrhosis, but the liver is enlarged rather than shrunken, which is unusual. What could be the cause of this, and have you encountered this situation before?
