Last night I walked my 17-year-old border collie and she encountered maggots on the ground near a garbage can. She did not eat any of the material the maggots were on, but she might have eaten one or two maggots. Should I be concerned about her health?

My Schnauzer puppy, who is 2 months old and was vaccinated for parvo two weeks ago without complications, has developed diarrhea, possibly related to coccidia. He is active and happy but has more frequent diarrhea episodes, including one that was bloody. No veterinarian is available until Tuesday. What can I do to treat or help my puppy?

Hello - I have a 6-year-old 44 lb mixed breed dog who had extracapsular surgery 11 days ago for a torn ACL. She jumped off the sofa and twisted her leg, but shows no signs of limping. Is there anything I can do to ensure the repair is intact, aside from taking her to the vet?

My female Rat Terrier is showing signs of a UTI, such as constant licking, dark and foul-smelling urine, and watery blood stains on her blanket. I cannot afford a vet visit and have leftover Metronidazole 500 mg. Can I safely give this to her, and does it sound like a UTI to you?
