My 11-year-old Brittany Spaniel has been slowing down and having trouble with her legs due to arthritis and Lyme disease. Despite trying various supplements and Rimadyl, she shows no improvement. I'm considering using prednisone to improve her quality of life. What would be the best starting dose for prednisone, and should I taper it based on her response?

My 6-month-old German Shepherd has scabs and bald spots on his face, black scabs inside his ears, and the condition is not clearing up despite using Tinactin, colloidal silver, and tea tree oil. My vet suggested it might be ringworm or a fungus and is considering a large dose of insecticide if it doesn't clear up by August 26th. What could be causing this, and what steps should I take to treat it?

Last Thursday I found out my poodle has a ruptured disc, and since then she has gotten worse. She has been unable to stand enough to use the bathroom and has been laying around. She seems to be aware of what's going on around her. Should I take her to the vet? What is the right thing to do?

I have a 17-year-old dog that has been drinking water excessively and has an odd breath odor. She still has a good appetite but just lays around. What could this be a sign of?
