My 11-year-old Yorkshire Terrier has been diagnosed with severe chronic kidney disease and non-regenerative anemia. What can be done as a last step to help him?

I have a 3-year-old standard dachshund who experiences severe pain episodes every 2-3 months, characterized by rolling on his back, trying to climb all over me, crying, and literally screaming. He has been examined by a vet multiple times, including x-rays and CT scans, but no physical cause has been found. He is currently being treated with muscle relaxers and Rimadyl, but the episodes continue. What could be causing these painful episodes and are there alternative treatments available?

My 3-year-old, 14 lb dachshund vomited bright neon yellow liquid this morning. I am concerned because she ate a pistachio shell at the beach on Friday evening. Are there any other symptoms I should be aware of, and what should I do to help her?
