My 12-year-old dog, Chuck, has been itching and scratching excessively after being given Beneful food and flea and tick medicine. He has lost half of his hair and now avoids going outside. He sometimes chokes as if wanting to vomit but nothing comes out. What could be causing this and how can I help him?

My 7-year-old German Shepherd mix, Ruby, has lost a significant amount of weight over a couple of months and has recently gone blind. Her behavior remains largely the same, except for needing retraining due to her blindness. She eats well, drinks several bowls of water daily, and remains cuddly and playful. However, I'm concerned about her weight loss and the sudden onset of slower walking and vomiting since this morning. Should I take her to an emergency vet, or can I wait until regular vet hours?
