My 12-year-old lab had his first seizure after a stressful vet visit. He had a full-blown seizure on the ride home, which lasted about a minute. He recovered almost immediately. The vet noted it in his chart. Are one-time seizures common? Can over-stimulation cause a seizure? Is it likely an underlying medical condition, or could stress alone be the cause?

My dog has recurring hot spots, particularly on her hip, chest, and now her ear. She takes an allergy pill daily and was on an antibiotic, but the hot spots keep coming back. What human medicine can I give her, and what other treatments can help manage this issue?

Our English bulldog is 9 years old and has been acting unusually for over a week, refusing to eat except for a jar of baby food, which he seems to eat less of each day. His sister is fine and eating normally but checks on him frequently. What could be causing this and do we need to take him to the emergency clinic?

My 18 lb dachshund is in pain due to a back issue. My wife just gave her a baby aspirin (80mg), and we have 50mg Tramadol that our vet gave her in the past. Can I give her a 1/2 tablet of Tramadol even though she just had a baby aspirin?

My 12-year-old King Charles Spaniel falls asleep sitting up, sways, and starts to fall over before rousing herself, similar to a narcoleptic. She has had numerous tests and bloodwork, all of which are normal for her age. The vet suggests a CT scan, but it costs $2500, and we are hesitant if it won't lead to effective and affordable treatment. Any suggestions?
