My 12-year-old senior Yorkie, Biscuit, has reduced energy, shivering, a depleted appetite, and larger pupils staring off. He sneezed a little yesterday, vomited bile 3 days ago, and his weight is slightly below normal. What could be causing these symptoms and what should I do?

Can I give a dog who is having frequent soft bowel movements a half tab (1 mg) of loperamide hydrochloride? He weighs about 23 lb. The dog has been having soft, formed bowel movements since Saturday, has eaten only kibble and dog biscuits, and has no known health issues or medications other than Simparica Trio for flea/tick/heartworm prevention. The dog is perky, eating well, and seems to feel fine, but has started pooping in the house despite being let out regularly.
