My 14-year-old toy poodle has had a persistent cough for 3 months, worsening when active, and has lost weight. He has fluid in his lungs and an enlarged heart, currently on lasix and antibiotics, but the cough and lack of appetite persist. What else can be done?

My Maltese is not acting well. She has not eaten in 2 days, drinks a little, has had diarrhea and vomited once today. About 3 hours ago when she threw up, I gave her some Pepto Bismol. She has been sleeping all day. She is 8 years old. What could be wrong with her? Please help.

My dog, a Lab Shepherd mix, has been itching herself excessively lately. I have already given her an application of Advantage, which helped for a while. I live in Nova Scotia, Canada, and cannot find any fleas on her despite several baths. What could be causing this and what can I do to help her?
