My 2 1/2 year old, 5 lb chihuahua, who is normally very active, has not been wanting to get up even to eat or go to the bathroom. She hides from me under the bed if she gets a chance. About a week ago, she went to jump up on the recliner with me and let out a loud 'yelp.' After that, she would sometimes whine when trying to jump or stand on her back legs. I took her to my vet who couldn't find a reason for her condition. He gave me pain meds which made her very drowsy. This all is so unlike my baby and I am really worried. What could be causing this and what should I do?

My 25-pound American Eskimo dog may have ingested approximately 1/2 cup of undiluted Mr. Clean around 10:00 a.m. We returned home at 2:30 p.m. to find several spots of vomit on the floor, which included yellow/green liquid and partially digested food. Our three-year-old Pit mix, Jezebelle, suddenly has swollen left front and rear paws. They appear about twice their normal size, the skin is red, and she won't let me touch them. Her right front and rear paws are normal size, and she is otherwise fine, good appetite, normal urinary and bowel function and frequency. She is always walked on a leash in our large yard, never goes into any wooded areas. We do not use any lawn and garden chemicals or pesticides. What could be the cause of this and how should we treat her?
