My 13-year-old Great Pyrenees/Chow mix is losing hair in masses, has inflamed ears, and oozing green discharge from the eyes. The vet prescribed thyroid meds, but the condition seems to be worsening. I suspect mange. How can I confirm if it's mange, is it contagious, and how can it be treated? Additionally, the dog has increased thirst, and the vet mentioned kidney failure.
