My 3-year-old female poodle-dachshund mix spends many hours under the daybed in the morning and then comes out to spend time with me in the afternoon. She eats fine, but it's odd for her to spend so much time under the bed. Is this behavior normal?

My 2 1/2 year old, 5 lb chihuahua, who is normally very active, has not been wanting to get up even to eat or go to the bathroom. She hides from me under the bed if she gets a chance. About a week ago, she went to jump up on the recliner with me and let out a loud 'yelp.' After that, she would sometimes whine when trying to jump or stand on her back legs. I took her to my vet who couldn't find a reason for her condition. He gave me pain meds which made her very drowsy. This all is so unlike my baby and I am really worried. What could be causing this and what should I do?
