My 5-month-old Great Dane/Great Pyrenees/Irish Wolfhound mix, Zephyr, has been experiencing vomiting, diarrhea, and a loss of appetite since Sunday. He loves the snow and has been eating it regularly. I'm unsure if our association uses pet-friendly ice melt. He's also drinking a little water and seems tired. What could be causing his symptoms and what should I do?

A puppy presented with a unilateral scrotal hernia on the right side. Pre-anesthetic blood tests showed mild regenerative anemia, moderate monocytosis, and eosinopenia suggestive of chronic inflammation and stress leukogram. There was no azotaemia, mild hypokalemia. The blood tests were done prior to the hernia operation. Should the other puppies from the litter be tested for anything, and is there any concern about the bloodwork affecting the surgery?
