My 5-year-old dog had an emergency operation for pyometra 9 days ago and was critical for 4 days after that. Since coming home, she seems well and happy, but occasionally pants heavily for about 5 minutes and drinks a lot of water. She is still on twice-daily antibiotics. Is the panting and increased water consumption normal during recovery, or should I have the vet check her again? She's due for a vet visit and check-up in one week.

My lurcher cross has symptoms somewhat similar to anxiety but I think she has eaten bluebell bulbs. She looks like she is having hallucinations at times. Could this be possible?

Our dog was recently diagnosed with multiple myeloma and started on Melphalan and prednisone. He has been doing well but has been receiving rotisserie chicken daily. Today, he is lethargic, not eating, and has labored breathing. I am concerned about possible thiosulfate poisoning from onion powder or garlic in the chicken. Is there anything we can do for him at home?

Our Great Dane is nearly eleven years old and has become bowel incontinent over the last few months. He is unaware when it happens, and his stools are dry-ish and easy to collect. I have made no changes to his diet, and he is not overweight and in good health generally for his age. Someone mentioned steroids that can help with this problem. What could be the cause, and would steroids be a viable treatment option?

I have a 9-year-old Chocolate Lab who has fallen down stairs and now avoids getting in the car or coming up stairs. He seems to favor one side when walking. Is there an animal clinic or vet school where we can take him for a discounted check-up?
