My 6-month-old 60 lb Doberman has severe hives. I gave him a bath and 50 mg of children's Benadryl about 4 hours ago, which helped briefly but now he's extremely uncomfortable. His breathing is normal, and there's no loss of appetite, but he's frantically itching. What can I do to help him? Should I take him to an emergency vet or wait until my regular vet opens in 9 hours?

My Pekingese dog was straining while eliminating his bowels at the dog park, and I found a golf-ball size amount of feces entangled in his fur. After cleaning him, his anus is still pink, red, and enlarged. His behavior is normal, but I'm concerned if this is due to straining or if it requires veterinary attention.
