My 6-year-old, 15 lb Terrier suddenly developed tenderness in his front legs/shoulders area and started running a fever. He won't drink water and eats very little. He was sprayed by a skunk on Monday night. How do I know if he's running a fever, and what could be causing his symptoms?

I pulled a dead goldfish out of our koi pond and put it by the edge to finish what I was doing. 8 minutes later, I found the fish gone. I believe our Kerry ate it. She doesn't seem sick yet, but I am wondering if we need to take her to the ER?
