My 6-year-old Chihuahua Rat Terrier, Dexter, constantly rubs his face on the carpet, comforter, or his bed, especially after eating and in the morning. This behavior has been observed for about 6 months and occurs 3-4 times a day. Dexter also has hair loss around his muzzle/face area. What could be causing this behavior, and what steps should I take to address it?

I have a 4-year-old Bloomenweiller bitch experiencing seizures. They started in December, occurring about 4 weeks apart but have increased significantly, with 4 seizures in 24 hours 9 days ago and 5 seizures in 17 hours yesterday. She is on Lamictin 25, 2 tablets twice daily, and seizures occur without warning, even while she is sleeping. She recovers quickly without after-effects. I've read about Phenobarbital. Could that be a solution?
