My wife and I rescued a dog named Ollie from an abusive situation. Recently, Ollie has shown aggression, biting the children and myself, and even becoming more aggressive towards our cat. I want to know if Ollie would benefit from a child-free home with an active owner and what effect neutering might have on his aggression.

He also licks blankets a lot and has had incidents where he seemed to have mini strokes, running in circles and urinating. He seems to be drinking more, has increased food-seeking behavior, and is now deaf. What conditions might be causing these behaviors?
