My 9-year-old Miniature Schnauzer, Sam, has had diarrhea since Friday, followed by lethargy and a bloated belly. He has a history of clostridium overgrowth and is on metronidazole and a daily fiber supplement. He had regular bowel movements yesterday and today but remains lethargic and his belly is bloated. He didn't finish his breakfast and is generally less interested in food. What should I do for him, and should I take him to an ER vet?

My 16-year-old dog still eats and drinks regularly, is energetic at times, and can walk normally, but has slowed down significantly this year, is losing weight, has severe osteoarthritis, frequent seizures, periodontitis, hearing loss, and cataracts.
