One side of my dog's face is swollen and I think it is causing him pain. The vet said it may be an infected salivary gland and prescribed Simplicef. He has had two doses but the swelling is worse tonight and he can't get to sleep. What should I do?

Our dog bit a visiting dog, causing two puncture wounds in the leg. We have used Neosporin, peroxide, and wrapped the wound. We also gave the injured dog baby aspirin and applied ice to the swollen area. The dog is walking but the leg is still swollen. Does swelling indicate infection, and should we seek emergency veterinary care?
