My Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Tag, had an incident with a horse 3-4 months ago where he was stepped on, resulting in a fractured toe treated with a splint. After the splint was removed, he had a slight limp which resolved, but now he is arching his back and exhibiting ataxia in his rear legs. My dog has an ACL problem in his left leg. Recently, his leg was sore, and he had trouble getting up. The next day, I noticed his underbelly was distended, flabby, and irritated. His bad leg started swelling, and his body seemed full of fluid. I took him to the vet, who couldn't identify the issue but did blood work, which was normal. They prescribed doxycycline and a pain pill. After four doses, there's no change. Could it be an allergic reaction to Cosequin DS or Gabapentin? Should I continue with these supplements and medications? What should I do if the swelling doesn't improve?
