My dog, a Silky Collie cross Terrier weighing around 18 to 20 kg, has eaten a Christmas stocking full of 12 small milk chocolates. She has not vomited and has been playing with her toy. What should I do?

My dog, Lulu, age 11, has slowed down tremendously over the last two days, showing signs of shivering, off balance, and difficulty jumping up stairs. Her belly appears swollen, but she has been able to poop and pee. She refuses to drink water and only eats yummy table scraps. She whimpers if moved quickly and her motor skills are very slow. Her gums are pink, and she humps her back up but does not drag her feet. She is not on any pain medications, but I gave her Benadryl to help her sleep. What could be causing these symptoms and what should I do?

Our 8-month-old basset hound, Daisy, went into heat on January 5 and recently started dripping watery blood again, with several drops of blood frequently during the day. She has been licking/cleaning very frequently and urinating a lot more than usual. We took her to the vet for diarrhea and an ultrasound and urinalysis were negative, but her uterus looked thickened. The initial urinalysis showed an increased white blood cell count. Is this a problem, and should we take her to the vet immediately?
