Our 8-month-old basset hound, Daisy, went into heat on January 5 and recently started dripping watery blood again, with several drops of blood frequently during the day. She has been licking/cleaning very frequently and urinating a lot more than usual. We took her to the vet for diarrhea and an ultrasound and urinalysis were negative, but her uterus looked thickened. The initial urinalysis showed an increased white blood cell count. Is this a problem, and should we take her to the vet immediately?

My teddy bear hamster, Honey, is showing signs of an inner ear infection, including spinning, tilting her head, and difficulty walking. I noticed this two nights ago and called the vet today, but I can't afford the office visit. What can I do to help Honey, and are there any financial resources available for veterinary care?

My dog, Rosie, a 9-year-old, 21 kg dog, ate around 2 oz of a 72% cacao dark chocolate bar (Vosges brand) three hours ago. She hasn't vomited yet and is generally healthy with no medical issues or medications. Should I be concerned about chocolate toxicity, and what should I do?

My 12-year-old boxer/mastiff mix, Rosie, has a worsening cough despite being on antibiotics for a bladder infection for about 3 weeks. The cough is interfering with her sleep, and her vet can't see her until Saturday. Is there a need to have her seen sooner? We are very worried about her.
