My dog, Albert, a 1-year-old adopted dog, has bloody diarrhea. He first noticed it a couple of hours ago and has not been unusually thirsty. He ate asparagus last night, which might be the cause. He is resting now and behaving normally, with no vomiting. What should I do to help him, and when should I consider taking him to the vet?
