My dog Brownie is having difficulty with his hind legs, making it hard for him to get up and climb stairs. He has a history of muscle control issues. Is there anything I can give him over the counter to help with his discomfort, and what could be causing his leg problems?

I am keeping a friend's English Bulldog. My male dog, who is the same age and weight, is very jealous and is snapping at the Bulldog. Can I give my dog anything to calm him down before I have a fight on my hands? Something that will act like Ace but is over the counter.

My 5-year-old Pekingese mix, Belle, has fluid in one of her ears, causing her to shake her head and scratch at it frequently. She has a cataract in the eye next to the affected ear and has had ear issues since I adopted her 3 years ago. I'm currently using Zymox otic enzymatic solution, which provides some comfort, but there's no odor, so I don't think it's an ear infection. Should I flush her ear, and is there anything else I should be aware of or do for her ear condition?

My dog ate a piece of chocolate cake. I don't know what to do.

My dog, Brindle, a 3/4 razor edge pit bull and 1/4 chocolate lab, turned 1 on October 26th. She started yipping when using her back legs to jump, won't try walking up the stairs, and won't jump up on me. She also made a small yip when standing up and went down the stairs awkwardly. She seems more tired than usual. What could be causing her discomfort and what should I do?

My dog, Coco, who is about 6 1/2 years old, was playing laser tag earlier and let out a blood-curdling cry for about 2 minutes. She's been having trouble jumping on furniture and going up/down steps. I thought it might be her nails pressing on a pad on one of her feet, so I had my husband take her in for a nail trim. Now it seems like it's her right back hip/leg, and I can feel swelling near her spine on the right side near her hip. How long has she had these signs? Does she seem to be favoring any of her legs? Is she holding up either hind leg and unable to put it down at all? Is the swelling fluidy, firm, or sore to the touch?
