asked

My dog, Cap, has been showing his third eyelid after a bath, possibly due to soap in his eye or a poke. He has been laying down and his eyes are very red. He last saw a vet three months ago and is currently taking Benadryl. What should I do to help him, and should I keep him awake or let him sleep it off?

My dog Ernie, who is 5 months old and weighs 21.8 lbs, has red eyes and keeps rubbing them. He was whining in his crate earlier than usual, sneezing, and showing signs of an allergic reaction. He had a second round of distemper vaccine yesterday but didn't have any side effects after the first one. Is this normal to have a reaction to a second round of shots even though he was fine after the first one?
