My dog chewed up a little tube of Carmex that had run through the laundry and melted. The dog weighs 25 lbs, is 1.5 years old, and is acting normally. What should I do about this?

Hello! My dog has an infected pad. I noticed he was limping about a week ago and saw that his pad was cracked, so I started treating it with Bag Balm, but it's become much more sensitive and painful to him, and he's hesitant to walk on it. I can't get him in to see a vet. Are there things I can do to treat it at home?
