My dog, Elvis, a 3-year-old 35-pound dog, ate about 3/4 of a maxi pad around 8 pm. He has thrown up since then, but not the maxi pad. He also ate a lot of grass and was very thirsty after vomiting. He just pooped, but we don't know if the maxi pad passed. What should we do?

My 6-year-old dog, Smokey, was diagnosed with leptospirosis three days ago and has been receiving treatment in the hospital, but his condition is worsening instead of improving.
