My dog, Freya, a 2-year-old miniature poodle, was diagnosed with eclampsia and had low calcium levels. She received IV fluids, medications, and calcium supplements. She has been anxious, panting, and her puppies have not nursed since yesterday morning. Her calcium level was 0.82 upon release from the hospital. How much should I feed my newly adopted, overweight Siberian Husky mix named Ghost, who is about 4.5 years old and weighs 69 lbs? He has a thick winter coat and is currently on a Blue Buffalo adult chicken and rice diet, with the package suggesting 3.5-4.5 cups daily. However, I plan to feed him only two cups daily divided into two meals, unless advised otherwise. Additionally, he has been in a shelter for over a year and is adjusting to his new environment. He doesn't play with toys and mounts female dogs, which I believe is a sign of asserting dominance. Any advice on his feeding amount and behavior?
