My dog has a large sore on her left hind leg that appears to be an abscess that has broken open, with holes in the tissue. The sore is seeping clear, bloody fluid and is accompanied by swelling. My dog, a 9-year-old Bassett Hound named Dolly, also limps and licks the wound frequently. She is on Heartguard, Nexguard, and monthly shots for arthritis. What can I do for her pain and how should I treat this wound?
