My dog has cancer and has been on prednisone for 3 months. For two of those months, he has had panting and labored breathing that the vets don't seem to know why. The prednisone is supposed to help with inflammation and slow the growth of the tumor, but he was on rimadyl before and seemed to do well. He pants fast and has labored breathing. They started him on 15mg every 12 hours then dropped the night dose, and later put him back on 15mg every 12 hours. I have an appointment to have him put to sleep due to the breathing issue. Would it be possible to slowly decrease the prednisone to maybe 10mg every twelve hours?

My dog has redness on his belly, groin area, and under his arms and mouth. The redness seems to be getting worse. I gave him 1/2 Benadryl and he is on Xanax and amitriptyline for anxiety. Is there something else I can give him or apply to help?

I have an 8-month-old lab whose right side of the face and under the jaw swelled 5 days ago. The swelling is not getting better and seems to be getting worse. He looks like he has a baseball in his throat, and the swelling is very hard. He was treated with Benadryl, a steroid injection, and an antibiotic injection, and later with Remadyl. The vet did X-rays and an aspiration, but found nothing significant. What could be causing the swelling, and what should I do next?

My dog has diarrhea and vomited twice. How can I tell if he is dehydrated?

I have two 4lb Chihuahuas (ages 2 & 3) that were originally eating Blue Buffalo grain-free for small dogs but frequently vomited. My vet suggested switching to WD prescription food, which stopped the vomiting. However, their poop has become dry and crumbly with undigested food, likely due to the larger kibble size and difficulty chewing, especially for my dog with incomplete adult teeth. Should this concern me?

Our 6-month-old Shepherd mix ate a whole package of fudge marshmallow cookies containing less than 2% chocolate. What should we do?
