My dog has elevated liver enzymes (ALT) of 1500, has lost weight, and was recommended Denamarin. The vet suggested a recall-free dog food like Innova, Evo, or California Natural, but these are also recalled. She was on Blue Buffalo and now on homemade chicken and rice. What other dog food brands can I consider, and what should I expect from her high liver enzymes? The vet wanted to do emergency surgery for a suspected blockage, but we opted to wait. What should be the next steps?

How much food should a medium-sized bull terrier cross red kelpie get? She is roughly 28 kilos and a few kilos overweight. She currently gets 1 680g tin of light dog food and about 300g of cooked veggies one day, then 2 1/2 cups of light biscuits and the same amount of veggies the next day. She is always hungry. Our dog threw up yellow mucus and food (apple slices) at 4:30 this morning and has continued vomiting small amounts since. The vomit has turned white and foamy, and recently contained red bloody mucus. She is acting lethargic and not eating/drinking. Could this be a reaction to the apple slices, or should we take her to the vet?
