I have a Bassett/Lab mix named Cookie who has gained weight since a back leg sprain and now suffers from arthritis in both back legs. He weighs 77lbs and needs to lose weight. He enjoys playing but rarely walks more than 2 blocks. His high-energy pitbull sister wants to walk 3 miles a day, but he can't keep up. What are better solutions for weight loss and pain management than just increasing exercise?
