asked

My dog is experiencing a lack of appetite and shivering. The shivering started this morning, and there has been no vomiting or diarrhea that I know of. She weighs about 60 pounds and has not had any new treats or foods in the past 48 hours. Aside from looking thinner, there are no other major changes like limping, abnormal gum color, or pupil changes. She loves to eat and this is not typical behavior for her. What could be causing this and what should I do?

My dog, Queenie, suddenly falls over on her side, cries out a few times while whining, then gets quiet and gets up. She has been showing other behavioral changes like not sleeping in bed as usual and going to areas of the floor to sleep. She also exhibits shivering or shaking of her head and sometimes her body. Queenie has a history of broken leg, Cushing's disease, thyroid and heart problems. She is on medications including Vetmedin, L-thyroxin, Amlodopine, Enalapril, and Vetoryl.
