My dog scratches excessively, bites different areas of his body until it bleeds, and his hair gets pulled out as a result. We have given him flea baths and medicines but could not see fleas or ticks on him. We put a cone around his head to slow him down, but he still rolls on the ground until his back is raw and irritated again. What could be causing this and what treatments or tests should we consider?

My dog has had skinny, mushy stools for about a month after starting a new food. She has to try numerous times before she gets anything out.
