My dog won't stop itching, especially in his armpit area, which is now irritated, red, and has lost hair due to the constant scratching. Can you tell me what this might be and what I can do to help alleviate his itching and promote hair regrowth?

My 10-year-old male Beagle shoved his head between my legs when I had the kitchen sink cabinet opened and was near a rat poison tray under the sink. I quickly grabbed his head and pulled him out of the cabinet and I didn’t hear him chewing anything and I don’t think he ingested anything but I’m not 100% sure. Has the Beagle vomited since he had the rat poison? Is there anything else the Vet should know?
