My lab ate a large fish (catfish) and seems to have a bone caught in his throat. He keeps coughing and gagging. This is day two. I don't have the money for a $1000 vet bill, is there anything I can do at home for him?

Our rescue dog, Tina, was prescribed Rimadyl for arthritis and experienced ascites during treatment. We are trying to determine if this was due to the Rimadyl, how severe her renal failure is, and how to assess for liver disease given our limited access to advanced diagnostic tools. We also want to know the appropriate course of action for her condition, including dietary restrictions and potential treatments.

My 10-year-old mixed breed female dog has a small, black, shiny mole on her front leg. I first noticed it three months ago, and it is 4 mm in diameter. It hasn't grown much. What could this be, and what should I do about it?

I have a 14.5-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog with osteoarthritis. She is currently on Rimadyl and Flexadin, and her blood tests are perfect. She also receives acupuncture therapy. However, I am looking for a painkiller that does not cause sedation for her severe pain days, as Rimadyl is not sufficient. Are there any human medications that are safe for dogs, or other options besides NSAIDs like diclofenac and aspirin?

My 16-year-old dog has muscle weakness in her hind legs, is unable to rise, and wobbles when walking. She shows no signs of pain, is eating well, and is bright and alert. Would anti-inflammatory drugs help, and what other options are there to manage her condition without resorting to euthanasia?
